Taking Public Transit to the Green Lofts Eco-Building Forum

Note: ItÕs advisable to get a Metro Day Pass for $5 for unlimited one-day use (some restrictions apply) –good on date purchased only. Buy a Day Pass on boarding the bus or at the ticket vending machines at the subway stations.  It is also a good idea to plan your route a day or two in advance and specify youÕll be traveling on Saturday, as weekend schedules are different from weekday schedules.

 

Participants from the greater Pasadena and northwest Los Angeles areas can begin on the Gold Line. Free parking is available at Sierra Madre Villa, Heritage Square, and Fillmore stations. Take the Gold Line to Union Station. Transfer to the Red Line and ride to the 7th Street Station. Transfer to the Blue Line and ride to the Firestone Station. Allow 54 minutes from the Fillmore Station; 70 minutes from Sierra Madre Villa.

 

Participants from the Long Beach area can simply take the Blue Line north to the Firestone Station.

From the South Bay: Take the Green Line east to the Blue Line, then the Blue Line north to Firestone.

From Long Beach and anywhere near 710 freeway, south of the 105 freeway: take the Blue Line north to Firestone

From Palos Verdes area: take either the Green Line or the Blue Line (see above).

 

Participants from the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood should take the Red Line. Free parking is available at the North Hollywood and Universal stations and paid parking is available at the Hollywood & Vine station on Argyle Ave.  Those beginning west of North Hollywood may want to begin on the Orange Bus Line to the North Hollywood Station. Free parking is available at the Pierce College, Reseda, Balboa, Sepulveda, and Van Nuys stops. Take the Red Line to the Seventh Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line. Ride the Blue Line to the Firestone Station. Allow about 46 minutes from North Hollywood. Allow an hour and a half from Pierce College.  You can also connect to the Orange or Red lines from one of the following park & ride lots.
